How Delta Galil Built a Collaborative Supply Chain to Improve Quality
The case studies mentioned herein were conducted using our earlier individual solutions: Inspectorio Sight (now Quality Risk Management), Inspectorio Rise (now Responsible Sourcing & Compliance), and Inspectorio Tracking (now Production Management). Inspectorio transitioned to a unified platform approach, enhancing and interconnecting these solutions under the Inspectorio Platform to better serve our customers. Delta Galil started a partnership with Inspectorio in 2018. Delta is a global company with multiple Customers, Licenses, Retailers and Own Brands with operations all around the world.
This partnership was envisioned by Delta Galil’s Executive Vice President Mr. Iric Browndorf, and the project was led by Hitesh Maheshwari, Vice President of Quality.
As a company worth close to US$2 billion, Delta Galil has big expectations and big commitments. Delta Galil’s signature brands include:
7 For All Mankind, Splendid, Schiesser, Delta Israel, P.J. Salvage, Karen Neuburger, Fix, Eminence, Athena, Secret by Athena, and Nearly Nude.
The company’s license partners include world-class brands, such as:
- Tommy Hilfiger
- Calvin Klein
- Wilson
- FAO Schwarz
- Converse
- Spalding
Based on the progress of the past two and a half years, the comments from Delta Galil:
With Inspectorio, we have been able to bring our different business units and inspectors across the world onto the same platform. Inspectorio became a platform where different business units can review and openly share data analytics with their respective partners (suppliers and vendors) to create a quality-driven culture.
Another challenge Delta Galil was having was multiple reporting formats.
“In the past, our QAs were using different modes of reporting i.e. SharePoint, Intranet MIS, and Excel forms, and it was very hard to conduct multiple inspections on the same day because they had to create manual reports, so overall time spent on the product was relatively less. Now, since Inspectorio is a real-time platform, the QA spends 80% of the time on the product and uses the identical format. This has given us an edge to do more inspections and increase the daily efficiency for one QA.”
Our retail sector in Israel (Delta Brands) is the most successful and has greatly benefitted from this partnership. We are now at 94% inspection 1st pass rate (YTD).
Inspectorio is a platform that gives us analytics that clearly indicate the pulse of suppliers that need our help to improve. We have developed a culture within Delta Galil that with every failure, everybody in the team jumps in on the cause and effect and CAPA to drive improvements. Another reality is that factories don’t like to fill out CAPA – it is tedious, and Inspectorio is indirectly helping us push vendors on RFT.
Overall, we’re able to show real-time data to our factories and bring them together to eliminate potential risks and improve our overall quality.
