Artificial intelligence is driving productivity increases

More than 80% of respondents indicated technology, specifically artificial intelligence in the supply chain, will make an impact on the efficiency and performance of their operations once adopted.

IT policies not caught up to technology advancements in AI

More than 20% of respondents indicated their IT policies are restrictive towards AI, preventing full adoption of the technology.

Consumer behavior a minor factor in supply chain management strategies

Only 14% of responses indicate consumer behaviors as driving their approach to the supply chain. However, changing regulatory requirements are having a major impact on strategies.

Risk management is the top priority for executives

State of Supply Chain Methodology

The State of Supply Chain Report includes insights gathered through surveys and interviews. It includes analysis from Inspectorio’s team, and has gone through independent reviews with external stakeholders.

The survey was distributed through Inspectorio’s contact lists, which includes professionals across supply chain functions such as quality management, procurement, sourcing, compliance, and others. We received 144 responses to the survey, including managers, executives, individual contributors, and owners.

As part of the survey, respondents could indicate if they were willing to participate in an interview process. Each interviewee was asked the same set of questions, and responses were used to validate and contextualize the data collected through the survey.

Inspectorio’s internal supply chain experts conducted both a quantitative analysis of survey data, and a qualitative analysis of interview insights, to generate the State of Supply Chain 2024 report. Further validation of the insights gathered were conducted as part of a third-party review process with external stakeholders.
